Overview:
Summary:
The Shop Helper provides support to the onsite Management and Technicians.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean and organize the shop inventory of tools and parts
- Follow direction of and assist technicians with onsite work and in the shop
- Work independently on tasks assigned
- Deliver parts or equipment
- Assist with routine equipment maintenance and repairs
- Keep records of work hours and parts utilized and work performed
- Handle other requests from management on a timely basis
Global Responsibilities:
- Regular attendance and physical presence at work is an essential function of this position
- This job may require additional duties not listed above and the employee may be asked to perform those duties to meet business needs
Qualifications:
Education/Specialized Knowledge/Professional Certifications:
- Working towards a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have a valid Driver’s License with a good driving record
Skills/Abilities:
- Mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn and take direction from others
- Highly disciplined, organized, strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Able to communicate effectively
- Effective problem solver
Working Conditions:
- Operation within a professional office environment and out in the field
- Subject to loud noise levels in some manufacturing facilities
- Routine usage of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50lbs.
