Housekeeper

Full job description

Hours per day: 11.5 or as assigned

Rotation: 3×3 or as assigned

Reports to: Hotel/Camp Manager

Purpose of Position:

Read and complete daily paperwork. Make beds and/or change linen as directed. The linen is changed weekly and/or on check out days. Clean and sanitize rooms and bathrooms to include removing trash, vacuuming and dusting. If assigned to a smaller camp a person may be required to do laundry duties. Various approved chemicals will be used so housekeeper must be familiar with each chemical.

Educational Requirements:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.

Experience and Background:

  • Preferred, but not necessary: One year of work experience or training which demonstrates suitability for and knowledge of what is required in this type of work.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures & cleaning supplies.
  • Enjoy working with people; friendly, helpful and patient & able to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good communication skills, ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Able to record information accurately.
  • Must be able to stay calm in difficult and stressful conditions.
  • Ability to adhere to strict policy and procedures per company and OSHA requirements.

Certificates, Licenses and Requirements:

  • Valid State ID, Driver License or government-issued ID.
  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) Card preferred, not required.
  • Rotational schedule of at least 11.50 hours per day for a minimum of 21 days consecutively as required.
  • Ability to lift & carry 25 pounds on regular basis and perform routine walking, standing and bending. There is a lack of immediate access to critical medical services, as well as urban community services.
  • Must pass pre-hire drug test, breath alcohol test, occupational fitness test, criminal background check and computer-based testing.
