Overview:

As a Host/Hostess, you will warmly greet guests as they arrive, manage waitlists, guide guests to their tables, and assist with to-go orders. You will also answer customer inquiries, maintain a clean and welcoming lobby, and ensure an excellent first impression for every guest. The pay rate for this position will be $14 to $16 per hour plus tips.

Host/Hostess responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Greeting guests politely and enthusiastically as they enter the restaurant
  • Prepares dining room for servers by cleaning and clothing tables; setting silverware, condiments, etc…
  • Maintains menu presentation by keeping menus clean; replacing damaged or soiled pages
  • Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to server spills or other needs
  • Courteously and consciously guiding guests to their assigned tables
  • Monitoring guest waiting lists and estimating guest wait times
  • Politely answering the telephone and responding to customer questions
  • Taking and assembling any To-Go orders, both on the telephone and in person
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the restaurant lobby, as well as the restrooms
  • Supports wait staff by setting-up and replenishing condiment stands, trash containers liners, and bus stations
  • Clearing off and preparing for next guests in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintains dining facility by cleaning chairs and tables; sweeping and/or vacuuming floors; removing trash and recyclables
  • Other duties as assigned
