Duties

• Assist customers in selecting baked goods, pastries, cakes, and other bakery items
• Decorate cakes and pastries with precision and creativity to meet customer specifications
• Package baked goods carefully to maintain freshness and presentation quality
• Prepare food items by following recipes and safety guidelines for consistent quality
• Maintain cleanliness of the bakery area, including equipment, display cases, and workstations
• Support food handling procedures to ensure compliance with food safety standards
• Restock shelves with fresh products and rotate stock to minimize waste
• Contribute to food production tasks such as baking, pastry preparation, and catering support when needed
• Use knife skills safely for slicing, decorating, or preparing ingredients for baking or serving

Requirements

• Previous experience in a bakery, pastry shop, restaurant, or food industry setting is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is key!
• Knowledge of cake decorating techniques and pastry presentation is a plus
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
• Ability to handle food safely and follow proper hygiene practices at all times
• Basic kitchen experience including food preparation and cooking techniques
• Familiarity with packaging methods to ensure product quality during display and sale
• Good knife skills for precise cutting and decorating tasks
• Ability to stand for extended periods while working in a fast-paced environment
