Purpose and Scope:
The Surveyor shall ensure that GIS data is available at project inception and confirms GIS data for projects entering final stages of development not specifically given a due date. Shall perform routine to technical survey duties in a field environment on a survey party or independently, in performing field surveys engaged in making plane and/or geodetic surveys for construction, topographic, as built/record, engineering, GIS data collection and control survey projects.
Essential Responsibilities:
1) Shall accomplish surveys and translate collected GPS data into AutoCAD drawings, AutoCAD Civil 3D 2020 for each survey or project.
2) Utilizes automated field survey codes and equipment to collect and document survey data in accordance with project specific requirements.
3) Read, analyze and interpret engineering/construction plans and perform field survey work from blueprints, shop drawings and sketches.
4) Assist supervisor to develop the deadlines, projects, and work to be completed.
5) Work with survey crew in schedule with project inspectors, contractors, engineers and others, plans and carries out the assignment, resolves most conflicts that arise.
6) Keeps supervisor informed of progress, potentially controversial matters, or far-reaching implications.
7) Work is reviewed in terms of feasibility, compatibility with other work, or effectiveness of results.
8) Will assist in the training of others.
9) Participates as part of a working team, providing and maintaining a steady workflow while responding to changing needs.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
