Full job description
The Purchase Officer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and services required by the organization in a cost-effective and timely manner, while ensuring compliance with company policies and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and reliability.
- Prepare and process purchase orders in line with company policies and approved budgets.
- Negotiate terms, prices, and contracts to achieve the best value for the organization.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any discrepancies or quality issues.
- Maintain and update supplier databases and procurement records.
- Coordinate with internal departments to understand purchase requirements and delivery timelines.
- Track inventory levels and initiate purchase requisitions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with procurement regulations, policies, and ethical standards.
- Assist in preparing procurement reports, cost analysis, and market research.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with vendors to ensure long-term cooperation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Freshers are welcome to apply
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and vendor sourcing.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
