Job Description/Summary: Kansas City Girls Academy, a Christian boarding school for at-risk teen girls ages 12-17, is looking for a trustworthy, helpful, ministry-minded kitchen cook.
The Kitchen Cook must follow and prepare meals according to the weekly meal plan prepared by the Kitchen supervisor. You will participate in ordering food and supplies weekly, assist in maintaining kitchen inventory, and ensure the kitchen remains in compliance with the Board of Health, Food Bank Policies & Procedures, and Safety Guidelines. Also in this role, you also work with students who are in the kitchen, helping them gain practical skills. You must be willing to take feedback and able to work on a team.
Through specialized training, including trauma-informed care, Kansas City Girls Academy seeks to bring young women hope, healing, and life-long skills to thrive. You bring a calling and the heart to serve troubled teens and their families by providing nutritious meals. We will provide the tools and the training to fulfill that calling!
Type of Candidate/Qualifications
- Experience working in food service, preferably in a non-profit organization
- A background check and pastoral or ministerial leader reference is required
- At least 21 years of age and have a good driving record for the past 3 years

- A respectful attitude, willing to take feedback, and follow the Kitchen supervisor’s lead
- Time management and conflict resolution skills
- Good communication skills, verbal and written
- A Ministry-mindset
