Responsibilities
- Take accurate orders from guests via phone, in person, or through in-room dining ordering systems, ensuring all special requests or dietary restrictions are noted.
- Clearly communicate guest orders to the kitchen, ensuring proper preparation of dishes and beverages.
- Confirm room numbers, delivery times, and any specific guest preferences or requests, including room setup preferences.
- Provide guests with detailed information about the in-room dining menu, including specials, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of food and beverages to guests’ rooms, adhering to agreed-upon delivery times.
- Present orders in a professional and polite manner, setting up food and drinks in the guest room as required.
- Assist guests in setting up meals or beverages, such as adjusting the table, providing condiments, and ensuring all necessary items (e.g., napkins, utensils) are included.
- Address any special needs or requests (e.g., dietary restrictions, additional items) during the delivery.
- Provide a high level of customer service by interacting with guests in a friendly, polite, and professional manner.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing any concerns or requests promptly, offering to resolve issues if the guest’s needs are not fully met.
- Actively listen to guest feedback to improve service delivery and address any issues in real time.
- Set up dining trays, tables, and other arrangements in guests’ rooms to ensure meals are presented attractively and comfortably.
- Offer assistance to guests with any necessary dining setup, such as adjusting the lighting, arranging seating, or assisting with specific requirements.
- After the meal, promptly return to the guest room to pick up trays and remove used dishes, ensuring the room is left in a neat and tidy condition.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, ensuring food and beverage items are served at the correct temperatures and are presented safely.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of in-room dining equipment, including trays, carts, and utensils.
- Ensure that all items used for food delivery are sanitized and that hygiene standards are followed at all times.
- Present the check to the guest, explaining charges and any additional items ordered.
- Process payments in accordance with hotel policies, ensuring that any discrepancies are addressed before finalizing the transaction.
- Ensure that all transactions are logged accurately in the system for proper billing and record-keeping.
- Communicate regularly with the kitchen and the in-room dining supervisor to ensure that all guest orders are completed and delivered on time.
- Assist in the monitoring and stocking of in-room dining supplies, including trays, silverware, napkins, condiments, and beverages.
- Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by management to support the effective operation of the department and the broader goals of the property.
