Full job description
Responsible for supervising stewarding operations to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and proper maintenance of kitchen equipment and back-of-house areas. Ensures compliance with food safety standards while supporting smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and schedule stewarding staff to ensure efficient daily operations
- Ensure cleanliness of kitchens, stores, dishwashing areas, and waste disposal zones
- Maintain proper use, handling, and storage of kitchen equipment and utensils
- Enforce hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards (HACCP)
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and request timely replenishment
- Train stewarding staff on safety procedures, cleaning standards, and equipment handling
- Coordinate with chefs and kitchen management to support service operations
- Report maintenance issues, breakages, and safety hazards
- Ensure compliance with hotel/company policies and local health regulations
