Kitchen Steward

Full job description

The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in the kitchen and related areas. This role supports the kitchen team by ensuring that all utensils, equipment, and workspaces meet food safety and sanitation standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Wash, clean, and sanitize kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery, and cooking equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, drains, and waste areas
  • Assist in garbage disposal and proper waste segregation
  • Ensure hygiene standards are followed according to food safety regulations (HACCP)
  • Refill cleaning supplies and report shortages to the supervisor
  • Assist kitchen staff with basic tasks such as moving supplies or organizing storage areas
  • Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures
  • Report any damaged equipment or maintenance issues immediately
  • Support during peak operations and special events as required

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a kitchen steward or similar role is preferred
  • With own visa
