Commis Chef

Job Summary

We are looking for a fast, proactive, and reliable Commis to join our bulk production team. This role is best suited for candidates from a catering or large-scale food production background who are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and meeting daily production targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily vegetable cutting according to required specifications and portion sizes
  • Assist with bulk meal preparation, portioning, and plating
  • Accurately bag and label meals as per production plans
  • Follow SOPs to ensure consistency, quality, and food safety
  • Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, tools, and equipment
  • Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing raw materials when required
  • Coordinate with chefs and supervisors to meet production deadlines
  • Report any quality or hygiene issues immediately
  • Support additional production tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Catering or bulk production kitchen experience preferred
  • Previous experience in a production kitchen or food service environment
  • Strong knife skills and ability to work in high-volume production
  • Quick, proactive, and able to work efficiently under pressure
  • Ability to follow instructions, portioning guidelines, and SOPs accurately
  • Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long hours
  • Punctual, disciplined, and dependable
