Job Summary:
The Store Keeper is responsible for the efficient management of all food and non-food inventory used in restaurant and catering operations. This includes receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining accurate records of materials, supplies, and equipment while ensuring proper storage conditions and minimizing waste or pilferage.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Receiving & Inspection
- Receive all incoming materials, food, and supplies as per purchase orders.
- Inspect items for quality, quantity, and expiry dates before acceptance.
- Ensure all received goods are properly documented with delivery notes and invoices.
2. Storage & Inventory Management
- Organize and store items in designated areas following FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) principles.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the store area at all times.
- Monitor temperature and storage conditions for perishable goods.
- Conduct regular physical inventory checks and reconcile with system records.
3. Issuance & Documentation
- Issue items to kitchen, restaurant, and catering units based on approved requisitions.
- Maintain updated stock cards and system entries for all issued items.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports.
4. Cost Control & Waste Management
- Prevent overstocking and understocking of items.
- Coordinate with purchasing and chefs for reordering based on consumption trends.
- Report any discrepancies, spoilage, or damages immediately.
5. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure proper labeling, rotation, and storage of goods according to HACCP standards.
- Follow company policies and safety regulations in handling food and chemicals.
- Participate in regular audits and inventory verifications.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience as Store Keeper in a restaurant, hotel, or catering company.
- Knowledge of inventory control systems and food storage standards.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Basic computer knowledge (Excel, POS, or ERP systems).
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple requests.
- High attention to detail and integrity.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move goods up to 25 kg.
- Long hours standing or walking in store or cold rooms when required.
