Job Overview
We are looking for a Receiving & Stock Keeper to manage the receiving, storage, and issuing of raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and consumables in our central kitchen. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate inventory control, proper storage conditions, and full compliance with food safety and hygiene standards to support smooth and safe food production operations.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving & Inspection
- Receive deliveries from approved suppliers and verify against purchase orders and delivery documents
- Inspect quantity, quality, packaging condition, labeling, batch numbers, and expiry dates
- Check temperatures of chilled and frozen items upon receipt
- Reject and report damaged, expired, or non-conforming items
- Ensure all receiving activities comply with food safety and hygiene requirements
Storage & Inventory Control
- Store items correctly in dry, chilled, or frozen storage areas
- Maintain proper storage conditions (temperature, cleanliness, organization)
- Ensure correct labeling and segregation of food items, allergens, chemicals, and non-food materials
- Maintain accurate stock records and update inventory movements
- Apply FIFO and FEFO principles strictly
- Conduct regular stock counts and support inventory audits
Issuing & Dispatch
- Issue materials to production based on authorized requisitions
- Ensure correct quantities and documentation for all stock issues
- Prepare items for internal transfer or dispatch when required
- Prevent unauthorized access to stock areas
Food Safety, Safety & Housekeeping
- Comply with HACCP and applicable food safety regulations
- Monitor and record storage temperatures
- Report hygiene, pest, or spoilage issues immediately
- Follow workplace safety practices and use required PPE
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe storage areas at all times
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Minimum: High School Certificate
- Preferred: Diploma in Supply Chain, Store Management, Logistics, or Food Production
Experience
- 2–4 years of experience in receiving, storekeeping, or inventory control
- Experience in a central kitchen, food manufacturing, hotel, or large-scale catering environment is preferred
- Knowledge of food-grade storage and cold chain management is an advantage
Certifications (Preferred but Not Mandatory)
- Food Safety & Hygiene Certification
- HACCP Awareness
- Forklift or material-handling certification
- Basic computer skills
Skills & Competencies
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records
- Basic computer and inventory system knowledge
- Physically fit to handle materials and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to work flexible shifts if required
