Job Description:

The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and back-of-house areas. This role supports kitchen and service operations by ensuring proper cleaning, dishwashing, waste management, and adherence to health and safety standards.

  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, cutlery, and glassware
  • Operate dishwashing machines and ensure proper handling of cleaned items
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, stores, corridors, and back-of-house spaces
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing kitchen supplies
  • Ensure proper waste disposal and segregation as per hotel standards
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations at all times
  • Support kitchen staff during operations when required
  • Report maintenance issues, breakages, or safety hazards to the supervisor
  • Ensure cleaning chemicals are used and stored correctly

Desired Skill & Expertise:

  • Previous experience as a Steward or similar role preferred
  • Basic knowledge of hygiene and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long hours
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
