Assistant Pastry Chef

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Assistant Pastry Chef to support daily production in our bakery, specializing in cakes, cookies, and brownies. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a love for high-quality baked goods made from scratch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and baking of cakes, cookies, brownies, and other baked goods
  • Follow established recipes, portioning, and presentation standards
  • Support cake assembly, frosting, filling, and basic decorating as needed
  • Prepare batters, doughs, fillings, icings, and toppings
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations
  • Assist with inventory management, ingredient prep, and storage
  • Help with daily opening and closing tasks
  • Work efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous bakery or pastry experience preferred (professional kitchen experience a plus)
  • Knowledge of baking techniques, measurements, and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude
  • Able to stand for long periods
