Job Title: Chef (Korean & Vietnamese Cuisine)

Department: Kitchen / Culinary
Reports To: Executive Chef / Head Chef / Restaurant Manager

Job Summary

The Chef is responsible for preparing and presenting authentic Korean and Vietnamese dishes while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and kitchen efficiency. The role requires strong culinary skills, consistency, and knowledge of traditional and modern cooking techniques from both cuisines.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook Korean and Vietnamese dishes according to established recipes and standards

Ensure authenticity, taste consistency, and proper presentation of all dishes

Assist in menu planning and recipe development when required

Manage food preparation, cooking, and plating during service hours

Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety (HACCP)

Monitor food quality, portion control, and minimize wastage

Coordinate with kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations

Ensure proper storage, labeling, and stock rotation of ingredients

Comply with company policies, SOPs, and kitchen safety standards

Requirements & Qualifications

Proven experience as a Chef specializing in Korean and/or Vietnamese cuisine

Knowledge of traditional ingredients, sauces, spices, and cooking techniques

Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards

Team player with leadership and time management skills

Job Title: Assistant Cook / Commis Chef (Korean & Vietnamese Cuisine)

Department: Kitchen / Culinary
Reports To: Chef / Sous Chef / Head Chef

Job Summary

The Assistant Cook supports the Chef in daily kitchen operations, food preparation, and maintaining cleanliness. The role is ideal for candidates with basic knowledge of Korean and Vietnamese cuisine who are eager to develop their culinary skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation of ingredients (cutting, marinating, portioning)
  • Support cooking and plating of Korean and Vietnamese dishes under supervision
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations and equipment
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
  • Assist in stock handling, storage, and basic inventory control
  • Support senior kitchen staff during busy service hours
  • Follow instructions from the Chef and kitchen supervisors

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Cook or Commis Chef preferred
  • Basic knowledge or experience in Korean and/or Vietnamese cuisine
  • Willingness to learn and follow kitchen standards
  • Ability to work long hours, shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Physically fit and able to work in a hot kitchen environment
