Job Summary
The Storekeeper – Joinery is responsible for managing, receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining inventory related to joinery materials, tools, hardware, and finished/semi-finished products. The role ensures proper stock control, accurate records, and timely material availability for factory and site operations.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Store Management
- Receive, inspect, and verify joinery materials such as wood, MDF, plywood, laminates, veneers, hardware, fittings, adhesives, and accessories.
- Ensure materials are stored properly to avoid damage, moisture, or deterioration.
- Maintain accurate stock records (manual and/or system-based).
- Conduct regular stock checks and monthly inventory audits.
- Monitor minimum stock levels and inform procurement for re-ordering.
Material Issue & Control
- Issue materials to production teams and site as per approved material requisitions.
- Maintain material issue and return records.
- Track consumption and report variances or shortages.
- Coordinate with production supervisors for daily material requirements.
Tools & Equipment Management
- Maintain records of joinery tools, machinery accessories, and consumables.
- Ensure proper storage and accountability of tools issued to workers.
- Report damaged, missing, or non-serviceable tools.
Coordination & Documentation
- Coordinate with procurement, production, and site teams.
- Maintain delivery notes, GRNs, material request forms, and stock reports.
- Assist in material reconciliation with purchase orders and invoices.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Ensure the store area is clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow safety guidelines for handling wood, chemicals, and tools.
- Comply with company policies and site safety regulations.
