Job Summary

The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily front-of-house operations to ensure exceptional guest experience, service excellence, and compliance with luxury hospitality standards. The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage service flow, staff performance, and guest relations in a high-end dining environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Service Excellence

  • Supervise daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure service standards align with fine-dining and brand guidelines.
  • Oversee table service, reservations, seating flow, and guest experience.
  • Coordinate closely with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service.
  • Ensure cleanliness, ambience, and table presentation meet luxury standards.
  • Handle VIP guests and special requests with professionalism and discretion.

Guest Relations

  • Welcome and engage guests to ensure a memorable dining experience.
  • Address guest feedback, complaints, or service recovery immediately and professionally.
  • Build rapport with regular and VIP guests.
  • Ensure personalized service and attention to detail at all times.

Team Supervision & Leadership

  • Supervise waiters, hosts, runners, and support staff.
  • Conduct pre-shift briefings and assign duties.
  • Monitor staff grooming, punctuality, and service etiquette.
  • Coach, train, and motivate team members to deliver high-quality service.
  • Support performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary actions if required.

Standards, Compliance & SOPs

  • Ensure compliance with restaurant SOPs, hygiene, and food safety standards.
  • Enforce health & safety regulations and UAE municipality requirements.
  • Monitor cash handling, POS usage, and billing accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE Labour Law and internal policies.

Inventory & Cost Control

  • Assist in monitoring stock levels for FOH items (linen, cutlery, glassware).
  • Minimize wastage and report damages or shortages.
  • Support management in controlling operational costs.

Reporting & Coordination

  • Report daily operations updates to the Restaurant Manager.
  • Assist in preparing shift reports, incident reports, and staff feedback.
  • Support special events, private dining, and high-profile functions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a high-end or fine-dining restaurant.
  • Previous experience as Senior Waiter / Captain / Assistant Supervisor preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of luxury service etiquette and dining standards.
  • Experience working in the UAE or GCC preferred.
