Full job description

The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, tea, detox juices, smoothies, matcha, protein drinks, fresh juices, and other wellness-focused beverages. This role emphasizes delivering an exceptional guest experience through excellent service, maintaining a clean and welcoming atmosphere, and aligning with wellness hospitality standards.


Key Responsibilities and Expectations:

1. Beverage Preparation and Service

  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including specialty coffee, tea, detox juices, smoothies, matcha, protein
  • drinks, and fresh juices.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality in all beverage offerings.
  • Stay up-to-date with wellness-focused beverage trends and incorporate them into the menu.

2. Guest Experience

  • Provide personalised service by understanding guest preferences and making suitable recommendations when
  • needed.
  • Educate guests on the health benefits of specific drinks and wellness ingredients if required.

3. Cleanliness and Hygiene

  • Maintain a clean and organised beverage preparation area, ensuring compliance with hygiene standards.
  • Sanitise equipment and tools regularly to uphold food safety protocols.
  • Ensure all ingredients are fresh and stored appropriately.

4. Collaboration and Teamwork

  • Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
  • Assist team members in beverage preparation and customer service.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings to discuss new ideas and address challenges.

5. Inventory and Stock Management

  • Monitor and manage stock levels for ingredients and supplies, ensuring availability at all times.
  • Communicate shortages or maintenance needs to the manager promptly.
  • Assist with ordering wellness-related products and tracking inventory.

6. Sales and Promotions

  • Promote seasonal and specialty wellness beverages to enhance guest experiences and drive sales.
  • Upsell complementary items such as snacks, wellness products, or meal pairings.


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate in hospitality, barista training, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a barista in a hospitality, wellness, or high-volume coffee shop setting.
  • Expertise in brewing coffee and preparing a variety of wellness-focused beverages such as detox juices,smoothies, matcha, and protein shakes.
  • Knowledge of portion control, ingredient balancing, and presentation.
  • Strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail for maintaining cleanliness and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
