Receptionist

Position Overview

The Veterinary Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth communication between clients, doctors, and veterinary assistants. This role requires excellent customer service skills, empathy, and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service at all times
  • Be attentive and responsive to client and pet needs
  • Work compassionately with clients in different emotional states
  • Handle distressed or frustrated clients patiently
  • Answer and triage incoming phone calls
  • Schedule appointments and procedures
  • Check clients in and monitor the flow from arrival to discharge
  • Follow up with clients as needed
  • Manage record requests between veterinary hospitals and specialty practices
  • Fill prescriptions and assist with patient discharge
  • Educate clients on basic pet care and clinic procedures
  • Assist with maintaining cleanliness of the clinic (reception, lobby, exam rooms, kitchen, kennels, etc.)
  • Process payment transactions
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records
  • Relay information between clients, doctors, and management
  • Use computer systems (Windows OS, word processing, email, internet search, and practice management software)

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • Arabic: Native (mother tongue)
  • English: Excellent spoken and written skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Previous experience in a veterinary clinic (preferred but not mandatory)
