An Assistant Restaurant Manager
supports daily restaurant operations, focusing on staff supervision, guest satisfaction, and efficiency by handling scheduling, training, inventory, customer service, and ensuring health/safety compliance, ultimately helping the General Manager boost profits and maintain high standards. Key duties include opening/closing, managing shifts, resolving complaints, processing payroll, ordering supplies, and ensuring a positive dining experience, often requiring availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, schedule shifts, mentor, evaluate performance, and resolve employee conflicts.
- Customer Service: Ensure exceptional guest experiences, handle complaints professionally, and build customer loyalty.
- Operations: Oversee daily functions, manage opening/closing, maintain cleanliness, and ensure adherence to health/safety regulations.
- Inventory & Ordering: Place orders for food, equipment, and utensils, manage vendors, and control costs.
- Financials: Assist with budgeting, payroll, cash handling, and tracking sales.
Essential Skills & Requirements:
- Proven supervisory experience in a restaurant setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with restaurant operations, POS systems, and payroll software.
- Availability to work all operating hours, including holidays and weekends.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and financial management.
