Kitchen Steward Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure all kitchen and service areas are kept clean, sanitised, and well-organised at all times, following food safety regulations and company policies.
  • Wash and properly store all crockery, cutlery, glassware, kitchen equipment, pots, pans, and utensils after use.
  • Assist with deep cleaning of kitchen areas, including floors, walls, and storage spaces as required.
  • Dispose of rubbish and recycling responsibly, maintaining waste management and recycling standards.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning materials and kitchen supplies to ensure uninterrupted kitchen operations.
  • Work in collaboration with kitchen and service team members to ensure speedy turnaround of equipment and supplies during busy periods.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or maintenance needs promptly to supervisors.
  • Support general kitchen organisation, including proper labelling and storage, to uphold food safety and allergen control.
  • Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries, ensuring cleanliness and order in storage areas.
