Kitchen Staff

Position Overview

Kitchen Staff members support the daily operations of a commercial kitchen by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, assisting chefs, and ensuring food is produced efficiently and safely. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation

  • Wash, peel, chop, and prepare vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients.
  • Assist with basic cooking tasks such as measuring, mixing, portioning, and plating.
  • Prepare sauces, garnishes, and simple menu items as directed by the Chef or Cook.

Kitchen Operations

  • Set up, stock, and maintain workstations throughout the shift.
  • Ensure all food items are stored properly and labeled according to health and safety guidelines.
  • Follow standardized recipes and instructions to maintain food quality and consistency.

Cleaning & Sanitation

  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, tools, and work areas.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and cookware using appropriate procedures.
  • Follow proper hygiene and sanitation standards, including safe food handling.

Support Duties

  • Receive and organize deliveries, checking for quality and accuracy.
  • Dispose of waste and recyclables regularly.
  • Assist cooks and chefs during busy periods by completing assigned prep and support tasks promptly.
