Position Overview
Kitchen Staff members support the daily operations of a commercial kitchen by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, assisting chefs, and ensuring food is produced efficiently and safely. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation
- Wash, peel, chop, and prepare vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients.
- Assist with basic cooking tasks such as measuring, mixing, portioning, and plating.
- Prepare sauces, garnishes, and simple menu items as directed by the Chef or Cook.
Kitchen Operations
- Set up, stock, and maintain workstations throughout the shift.
- Ensure all food items are stored properly and labeled according to health and safety guidelines.
- Follow standardized recipes and instructions to maintain food quality and consistency.
Cleaning & Sanitation
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, tools, and work areas.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and cookware using appropriate procedures.
- Follow proper hygiene and sanitation standards, including safe food handling.
Support Duties
- Receive and organize deliveries, checking for quality and accuracy.
- Dispose of waste and recyclables regularly.
- Assist cooks and chefs during busy periods by completing assigned prep and support tasks promptly.
