Job Description:

The Sous Chef Baker will be responsible for overseeing all baking operations, ensuring the production of high-quality baked goods, and managing the bakery team.

This role requires a creative and skilled individual who can maintain consistency in product quality, and uphold the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:

– Together with our Bakery brand chef & Head of Bakery, plan, prepare, and execute the production of a wide range of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and other specialty items.

– Together with our Bakery brand chef, develop and test new recipes, ensuring they meet company standards and customer expectations.

– Manage and train the bakery team, providing guidance and support to improve their skills and efficiency.

– Ensure all products are made according to recipes and specifications, maintaining consistency and quality.

– Oversee inventory management, including ordering ingredients and supplies, and minimizing waste.

– Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, adhering to all health and safety regulations.

– Monitor and manage baking schedules to ensure timely production and delivery of goods.

– Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and marketing, to promote new products and seasonal offerings.

– Address customer feedback and resolve any issues related to bakery products.

Qualifications:

– Proven experience as a Sous Chef (Baker) or in a similar role in a commercial bakery.

– Excellent knowledge of baking techniques and the ability to produce a wide variety of baked goods.

– Strong leadership and team management skills.

– Creative and innovative mindset with the ability to develop new recipes.

– Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.

– Good organizational and time management skills.

– Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.

– Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
