Role Overview
The General Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall tidiness of the museum’s galleries, play areas, restrooms, and public spaces. This role ensures a safe and welcoming environment for children, parents, staff, and visitors at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning of galleries, play zones, classrooms, party rooms, restrooms, and all public areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect floors and surfaces regularly.
- Ensure all high-touch areas (doors, railings, handles, toys, interactive installations) are sanitized throughout the day.
- Clean and restock restrooms, including soaps, tissues, and other supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of back-of-house areas, staff rooms, and storage areas.
- Follow proper waste disposal procedures, including segregation and safe handling.
- Report any safety hazards, damages, or maintenance needs to the supervisor immediately.
- Assist in setting up and cleaning after events, workshops, and birthday parties when required.
- Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are used safely and stored correctly.
- Uphold hygiene and safety standards in line with Dubai Municipality and company guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or facility maintenance (experience in hospitality, entertainment, or child-focused environments is a plus).
- Understanding of basic cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with children and families.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Physically fit and able to stand, walk, and lift moderately heavy items as part of daily duties.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and shift schedules.
