Full job description

• Item handling: Properly load, secure, and unload medical items, including specimens, supplies, and equipment. Ensure items are packaged correctly and handled with care to maintain their integrity.
• Route and time management: Plan the most efficient routes, considering traffic and weather, to ensure timely and punctual delivery. Adhere to assigned schedules and timetables.
• Documentation and record-keeping: Maintain accurate logs of all deliveries and pickups, including mileage and other required paperwork. Verify recipient signatures and ensure all documentation is correct and credible.
• Vehicle maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the vehicle to ensure it is safe and in good working order. Keep the vehicle clean and organized.
• Communication and customer service: Communicate effectively with healthcare facilities, laboratories, and customers. Provide assistance to patients if necessary.
• Compliance: Strictly follow all safety rules and regulations, especially company privacy regulations, to protect patient and medical information.
• Item verification: Accurately count and take inventory of medical items to ensure all orders are correct before and after delivery.

Required skills and qualifications

• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is essential.
• Knowledge of GPS devices and navigation apps is necessary for routing.
