Job Purpose:
To provide excellent customer service by accurately processing transactions, handling cash, and ensuring smooth checkout operations at the supermarket.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Scan, weigh, and process items quickly and accurately at the checkout counter.
- Handle cash, credit card, and digital payments with accuracy.
- Issue receipts, refunds, or exchanges as per company policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier counter.
- Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts.
- Respond to customer inquiries and assist with complaints.
- Coordinate with supervisors for price checks, voids, or special transactions.
- Follow company policies for cash handling and security.
- Support other departments during peak hours if required.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous cashier or retail experience preferred.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure during peak hours.
- Honest, reliable, and detail-oriented.
Work Conditions:
- Standing for long periods.
- Rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Fast-paced retail environment.
