Full job description

Key responsibilities

• Processing laundry: Sort, wash, dry, press, and fold items according to type, color, and fabric.
• Equipment operation: Operate and perform basic maintenance on washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment, such as cleaning lint traps.
• Quality control: Inspect items for stains, tears, or damage, and take appropriate actions to treat them or remove them from service.
• Safety and sanitation: Follow strict safety and sanitation protocols, especially when handling chemicals like detergents and bleach, and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Inventory and organization: Maintain inventory levels of supplies like detergent and linens, and keep the laundry area clean and organized.
• Customer service: Sometimes involves customer-facing duties, such as taking payments, giving cleaning advice, and wrapping finished items for delivery.
• Other duties: Perform minor sewing tasks, assist with other housekeeping duties as needed, and sometimes manage laundry records.
