The Retail Store Manager will oversee the daily operations of bookstore, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient operations, and achievement of sales targets. This role requires a passionate leader with strong retail management experience, ideally within the books, education, or lifestyle sector.

Key Responsibilities

Store Operations & Sales

  • Manage day-to-day store operations, ensuring smooth opening, closing, and cash handling.
  • Monitor and drive sales to meet monthly and annual targets.
  • Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, and merchandising standards.
  • Ensure visual displays align with Booktopia’s brand identity and promotions.

Customer Experience

  • Deliver excellent customer service and ensure staff uphold service standards.
  • Build relationships with schools, nurseries, and parents to drive loyalty and repeat business.
  • Handle escalated customer issues professionally and promptly.

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and supervise store staff (booksellers, sales associates).
  • Motivate the team to achieve sales and performance KPIs.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and staff evaluations.
  • Implement training modules on customer service, product knowledge, and POS usage.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety, and UAE retail regulations.
  • Manage store budgets and expense controls.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years retail management experience (books, lifestyle, or education sector advantageous).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in POS systems, MS Office, and inventory software.
  • Passion for books, children’s education, and literacy promotion.
  • Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
