What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of road and highway infrastructure related to the railway/metro project, ensuring seamless integration with existing networks.
- Develop geometric designs for roads, interchanges, junctions, and access roads, optimizing layouts for safety, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
- Ensure designs adhere to international and local standards (AASHTO, DMRB, UAE DOT guidelines) while considering constructability, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
- Oversee pavement design, drainage systems, road safety assessments, and traffic management solutions to enhance durability and performance.
- Conduct value engineering assessments, identifying opportunities for cost savings while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ensure all roadway and infrastructure designs meet project specifications, regulatory approvals, and Parsons’ quality standards.
- Provide technical guidance, review, and validation of design submissions, reports, and drawings from the project team and external consultants.
- Identify and resolve challenging geometric constraints, space limitations, and right-of-way challenges, ensuring practical and efficient solutions.
- Implement digital engineering and BIM methodologies for optimized design coordination and clash detection.
- Collaborate with railway, structural, drainage, and utilities teams to ensure seamless integration of roads with metro/rail systems, depots, and access points.
- Engage with contractors, consultants, and third-party stakeholders, ensuring alignment of road designs with project timelines and construction methodologies.
- Support community and stakeholder engagement efforts, addressing public concerns regarding roadworks, accessibility, and construction impact.
- Provide technical support during construction, assisting with issue resolution, design modifications, and on-site challenges.
- Conduct site inspections, quality reviews, and compliance assessments to ensure the proper execution of roadworks.
- Review and approve contractor submittals, shop drawings, and material selections for road infrastructure components.
- Monitor project risks and constraints, proactively addressing challenges related to right-of-way, utilities, and construction sequencing.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in highway, road, and infrastructure design, with a focus on railway or metro integration projects.
- Rail/metro project is mandatory
- Must be fluent in Arabic and have minimum 5 years of experience in the UAE.
- Extensive knowledge of highway engineering principles, geometric design, road safety, and traffic management.
- Proficiency in design software such as Civil 3D, OpenRoads, MX Road, InRoads, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
- Strong understanding of regional regulations, standards, and permitting processes in the UAE/GCC.
- Proven ability to lead engineering teams, manage multidisciplinary coordination, and engage with government authorities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience collaborating with contractors, consultants, and government entities on transport infrastructure projects.
