Full job description

The Kitchen Cleaner is responsible for maintaining high cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and back-of-house areas. This role ensures compliance with food safety regulations, keeps kitchen equipment and surfaces sanitized, and supports the overall efficiency of the culinary team in a fine dining environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, floors, walls, and storage areas.
  • Wash, dry, and properly store kitchen utensils, dishes, and cookware.
  • Ensure proper disposal of kitchen waste while following hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of walk-in refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas.
  • Adhere to cleaning schedules and comply with food hygiene and safety regulations
  • Assist in deep cleaning kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, and exhaust hoods.
  • Refill and stock cleaning supplies to ensure the kitchen remains well-equipped
  • Report any maintenance or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.

Physical Working Conditions:

  • Typically works long shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • May need to handle emergency cleaning during peak hours.
  • Lifting and carrying cleaning supplies, garbage bags, and kitchen tools (typically 10-20 kg)

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality cleaning role (preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced fine dining environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
