Job Responsibilities

• Operate large format printing machines to produce high-quality prints for signage and advertising.
• Advanced knowledge of making colour profiles with Xrite
• In depth knowledge of rip software’s like – onyx, maintop, photoprint
• Set up and adjust printing machines according to job specifications, ensuring accurate color and print quality.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of printing equipment to ensure smooth operations.
• Manage print jobs from start to finish, including loading materials, monitoring print runs, and finishing.
• Inspect prints for defects or inconsistencies, making adjustments as necessary.
• Coordinate with the design and production teams to ensure the prints meet client specifications and deadlines.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols.
• Troubleshoot minor technical issues, including misfeeds, print errors, and minor mechanical malfunctions.
• Report major technical issues to the maintenance team or service providers
• Track usage and waste to optimize resource management.
• Record details of completed print jobs, machine maintenance, and any adjustments made.
• Maintain accurate production logs, including time tracking, material usage, and waste for each job.
• Report production metrics to supervisors and suggest improvements for efficiency.
• Follow safety protocols for handling printing equipment, chemicals, and materials.
• Ensure the work environment meets health and safety standards, including proper ventilation, personal protective equipment (PPE), and fire safety measures.

Requirements:

• Proven experience operating large format printing machines, preferably in the signage or advertising industry.
• Familiarity with various printing materials such as vinyl, fabric, and PVC.
• Knowledge of colour calibration, colour profiles and print settings.
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and manage multiple print jobs simultaneously.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality output.
• Advance working knowledge of design software’s (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop)

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience operating and handling wide format digital printing machines.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in digital printing software, machine operation, and color calibration techniques.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct print quality issues.
• Capability to troubleshoot minor issues and think proactively to prevent downtime.
