Full job description
The Crane Operator is responsible for operating mobile, tower, or overhead cranes to lift, move, position, and place materials and equipment at designated locations on the project site, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate cranes and other lifting equipment safely and efficiently as per operational procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
- Inspect crane equipment and lifting gear daily to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Communicate with riggers, signalmen, and site supervisors to coordinate lifting activities.
- Determine load weights and ensure they are within the crane’s capacity limits.
- Position and stabilize the crane before lifting operations.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
- Follow site safety regulations and ensure that all lifting operations are conducted safely.
- Maintain accurate records of lifting operations, maintenance, and inspections.
- Assist in assembling and dismantling cranes when required.
- Ensure compliance with local safety and operational standards (e.g., UAE Labour and Safety Regulations, if applicable).
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid Crane Operator License (approved by relevant authority, e.g., RTA / DM / ADNOC / or equivalent).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience operating cranes in construction or industrial environments.
- Sound knowledge of crane operation principles and load chart interpretation.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Good physical condition and strong attention to safety.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability.
