Cleaner (F&B)

Job Summary:
The Cleaning Worker is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the restaurant, ensuring a clean and safe environment for both guests and staff. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dining Area Maintenance:
  • Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, and booths after guests leave.
  • Sweep and mop floors regularly to maintain a tidy dining environment.
  • Empty trash bins and ensure disposal areas are neat and organized.
  • Keep windows, doors, and glass surfaces spotless and free from smudges.
  • Restroom Cleaning:
  • Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, mirrors, and countertops.
  • Ensure restrooms are stocked with paper products, soap, and other essentials.
  • Mop restroom floors and attend to spills or messes promptly.
  • Kitchen and Food Prep Areas:
  • Clean and sanitize all kitchen surfaces, including countertops, prep stations, and cutting boards.
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floors at the end of each shift or as needed during operations.
  • Empty and clean trash bins, especially in food prep and kitchen areas.
  • Ensure all cleaning supplies are properly stored and chemicals are used safely.
  • Dishwashing:
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment thoroughly.
  • Ensure dishwashing area is kept clean and organized.
  • Properly operate and maintain the dishwasher, including loading and unloading.
  • Trash and Recycling:
  • Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables in designated areas.
  • Ensure waste is sorted according to restaurant policies, including composting if applicable.
  • Maintain clean and sanitized trash disposal areas.
  • General Cleaning Duties:
  • Dust and wipe down surfaces, including fixtures, light switches, and baseboards.
  • Clean entryways and ensure high-traffic areas are maintained throughout service hours.
  • Respond quickly to spills or accidents to prevent slips or contamination.
  • Assist Staff as Needed:
  • Help kitchen and waitstaff with general cleaning or organizational tasks.
  • Assist with deep cleaning during non-operational hours (e.g., cleaning equipment, ovens, fridges).

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of basic cleaning chemicals and procedures.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment, including floor buffers and dishwashing machines.
  • Attention to detail and strong work ethic.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a restaurant setting where cleanliness and safety are critical.
  • Must be able to handle exposure to wet floors, hot surfaces, and cleaning chemicals.
